'PR' CH 2J's BUBBAS BLUE ANGEL and her owner Adam "BUBBA" Stratton
Bubba and Angel's story
It all started back around Christmas 2004.  Paul Carlson of Manistique, MI called and asked me if Bubba could have a puppy for a Christmas gift.  I pondered the thought and the fact that Bubba is only 8 years old.   I sat down on night with Bubba and asked him what he would do with his very own pup.  I asked him if he would feed, groom, and show his own dog.  His response was "yeah dad".
So without him knowing our buddy Joey Krueger and I set out in a Ice storm on New Years day.   We drove the 700 mile round trip and were home before Bubba woke up the next morning.   I tossed this lil Pup in his bed with him.  All excited he demanded to know where I got this pup.  When he found out he called Paul Carlson and told him thank you, and then went on to tell Paul he would make her a show champion in a year or less.  When I asked Bubba what he was gonna name her we noticed that Angel was born on my grandmothers birthday and she loves angels, so Bubba named her for Grandma.
At six months old Bubba Started showing Angel winning his class and breed over and over again.  He practiced benching her daily for at least a hour.  In July we went to the BBOA youth nationals, then lots of local clubs.  Come August Bubba told me he wanted to go to Autmn oaks,  I told Bubba that there was gonna be some tough competition there.  He replied to me, "dad I aint no chicken".
We went and he hadnt practiced very well that week, he blew it.   So, on the way home he said he was done messing around and planned on winning the next show.  We went to Pearl City, IL he won his class again.    Two weeks later there was a Red Bone Sectional at our club (Jefferson county coon & Fox hunters club  Hebron, WI)  Bubba got his best of show. The crowd went into a up roar.
I want ya'll to understand that Bubba did all of this on his own with a little coaching from judges and freinds.
I hope more people let their kids have this chance in life it is important to our future.  Remember kids that hunt and trap aint out stealin either.
Thank You
